Cookie policy

WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files sent by a website to the user’s device (usually the browser), where they are stored and then sent back to the same website when the user visits it again. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s hard drive, transmit computer viruses, or capture email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser. Some functions of cookies may also be performed by other technologies. In this document, the term “cookie” refers both to cookies in the strict sense and to all similar technologies.

Through cookies it is possible to record information related to user preferences, such as pages visited, files downloaded from our website, or other similar actions performed while browsing our site.

FIRST-PARTY OR THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Cookies may be first-party or third-party. “First-party” cookies are developed by the owner of the website itself, while “third-party” cookies are developed by parties other than the website owner.

TYPES OF COOKIES
Depending on their nature, there are different types of cookies:

Technical cookies
Technical cookies are used solely for the purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service” (see Art. 122, paragraph 1 of the Italian Privacy Code). They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or manager. They can be divided into:

  • Browsing or session cookies, which ensure the normal browsing and use of the website (for example, allowing a purchase to be made or authentication to access restricted areas). They are essential for the proper functioning of the site.

  • Analytics cookies, which are treated as technical cookies when used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregated form, about the number of users and how they visit the website, in order to improve site performance.

  • Functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language or products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.

The installation of these cookies does not require the prior consent of users (more information in the “Cookie Management” section below).

Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are used to associate specific actions or recurring behavioral patterns in the use of offered features with identified or identifiable individuals, in order to group different profiles into homogeneous clusters of varying sizes. This allows the data controller to personalize the service beyond what is strictly necessary for its provision and to send targeted advertising messages aligned with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the internet.

In the case of third-party cookies, the website does not have direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it cannot install them directly nor delete them). However, you can manage these cookies through your browser settings or the websites indicated in the “Acceptance and Refusal of Cookies” section.

Users are therefore invited to check the website of the third party listed below.

COOKIE DURATION
Cookies have a duration determined by the expiration date (or a specific action such as closing the browser) set at the time of installation. Cookies can be:

  • Temporary or session cookies (session cookies): used to store temporary information, allowing actions performed during a specific session to be linked together. They are removed from the computer when the browser is closed.

  • Persistent cookies: used to store information such as login name and password so that users do not have to enter them again each time they visit a specific website. These remain stored on the computer even after the browser is closed.

Session cookies, once the connection to this website is terminated, are not retained. The IT systems used for this website use both temporary cookies and persistent cookies (to be completed – ask the website administrator).

ACCEPTANCE AND REFUSAL OF COOKIES
The installation of technical and analytical cookies does not require the user’s consent.

Profiling cookies or other tracking tools, however, may only be used if the user has given consent after being properly informed.

If you wish, you can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. However, deleting cookies from the browser may remove the preferences you have set for this website, so it would be advisable to periodically visit this page to review your choices.
